Adult Coloring Pages, Stress Relief, PTSD relief..

This has been a fun week with coming up with ideas to draw. The reason I'm starting this is because this helps people relax from PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  This is for all my military stressed peeps. This is my way of helping. My joy in helping. To all my military peeps you are all my hero's so if my drawings can help you relax and enjoy coloring.. This makes me happy.
This is my first version of my horn girl then I redrew her for Etsy.  It's not exactly like the first one but Its a run off so I could add more for the person getting her can have more to color. Then my coworker colored the last picture. Too cute right?

These can be found on my etsy.

Fantasy Adult Coloring pages and Books

Well, I have recently been introduced to Adult Coloring books. I had no idea of such things, but there great for relieving stress, and PTSD/ Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or if you just want to color. One of my friends Kelly added me to a group on facebook and told me since you like to draw and paint you should create your own Adult Coloring Book. I'm also thinking of doing a few drawings on acrylic paper so the person can buy the page and then they can use acrylic paints and markers, I just wouldn't recommend water colors. So what do you think of the idea? Leave me comments...

My writing comes first and I'm at the end of finishing my newest book with a new genre other then paranormal fantasy, then onto edits.. growls... so while I'm at work I can doodle if we're not busy. So far I have three done and there on Etsy.

So here is the link so you can check out my new adventure.

HORROR Writer/Author Alexander Stephen Brown at Geekonomicon 2015

GEEKONOMICON 2015

Sitting next to me at the Pulp/Writer's Exhibitor section was none other then Horror writer/ author Alexander Stephen Brown.
He was wonderful and funny and he and his assistant/ friend, Kerry Stevens on his right. They made me feel like I fit right in. I was surrounded by other great authors and publishers and at first I felt like an outsider, but not long after we were all laughing and enjoying our day together. Even though you can't see me, I was actually sitting behind his huge sign. (Which I want one for myself.)

After talking with Alexander I found out he's published by Dark Oak Publishing. I happened to meet the owner of the company Tommy Hancock who was also there sitting close by pushing his other author's works. I was extremely excited that a publishing house would work extra hard to help his authors. It was amazing. Also Mr. Hancock was down to earth and fun to hang out with.

The pictures below was his setup~ Impressive!!!

Alexander S. Brown has a lot of different Novels out which can be found on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Alexander-S.-Brown/e/B002UN7ZHQ/ref=dp_byline_cont_book_1

Alexander and myself pushing our books~~~~ We had a blast. Later we all even went to dinner together.

Different Genre's are fun to write

Greetings everyone.
Sorry about not keeping up, but I'm far from the point of where I have someone helping me network and do the things I need done to get my name out there. Networking takes a lot of time away from writing but it's so important and it can be fun because I've met so many people and gained friends.
I have two paranormal fantasy books out, which are short stories to get me started. The one I'm working on now is a contemporary, suspense, romance with steampunk elements.  Is that not a mouthful or what? A few weeks ago I entered 1500 words of the beginning into a writer's contest and won fourth place/honorable mention. I've come a long way baby.

Now I have to finish it before the end of the year because in December I'm working on getting a table  on that Saturday at a Geekonomicon 2015 in Biloxi, Mississippi. It's going to be a blast. It's a con like comic con, dragon con the air is full of energy, fun and appreciation for Sci-fi, horror, steampunk, paranormal anything you enjoy that's not NORMAL. Who wants to be normal anyway? I surely don't. So my other story I'm working on will surprise you too because that one is back to paranormal fantasy but not vampires, werewolves or the like. This one will have a different flavor and I hope not to disappoint. So if all goes well I'll have two new books out before the end of the year. Keep in touch..

My Two Stories are NOW in Paperback

    Greetings peeps.
I hope all is well with you and your families. I have great news. Forever Lost is now only .99 cents on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and Smashwords. IN PAPERBACK, only through Amazon and Barnes and Nobles which cost more unfortunately. If you grab a paperback, and want me to sign them we'll work something out.
   I also have a question.

Do you as a reader like to read short stories, novella's or a novel? I have two short stories published and I've been working facebook, twitter, and instragram. I'm writing on a few things to get out there so I'm wondering if I should try for longer.
Some authors do well with short stories, novella's. I know the big authors do great with novels. So I'm curious in what my reader prefers from me. I know I wish I could write faster and not have to work a regular job. It sucks my energy dry as I'm not a young chicken anymore.  Laughs.
    Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Paula V. Hardin

Come find me on Twitter, and Facebook and instragram.

Promoting without Badgering your Peeps.

Goodness, that is a hard thing to do. Being a new author I have very little followers. I have lots of people I consider friends on Facebook, but on twitter, and Instagram not so much. Twitter gives me the hives, and Instagram well that's a new thing all together. Oh and I love Google+ so many people, and Pinterest is massive and impressive.
Now let's not talk about blogging. How many ways I can say, I'm working, I'm working, and I'm working without sounds redundant?
On facebook I joined writer's groups to self promote, and sometimes I think it's just full of other authors pushing their books. But, I know I have dues to pay before building my own following. Someone just yesterday told me, ME that I was her mentor. I was giddy with pride and humbled beyond words.
With that said, please understand that I'm just trying to be noticed. I do have rules, I only post twice a day. Like twitter and so forth so I'm not shoving things down your throat. I hope I can still reach peeps who would like to read my stories.
Well for tonight, it's late and I'm really tired. I thought I'd come write but my pillow is calling. Much love, and I'm going to go check my stats on how many books I sold today. grins, it's addicting. Shrugs, I can't help it. It'll get old when sales die down, but it's so exciting to see a new hit.  These are my two e-books available on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, and ITunes.

Monday, April 21, 2014

Well, I am shamed-faced sitting here, knowing I haven't been posting. I'm rolling my eyes in disgust, but I'm not a blogger by nature. I find my life boring, and I work a lot of hours to come in and tell you, "Well I worked all day, and tomorrow, I'd come back to say, yes another day at the grind." Grins, I think I can safely say, I live a boring life.

It's been since, 2012 that I self-published Forever Lost. I have been working on my second story and ran into a lot of problems with finding a editor. I finally found someone who is a English teacher, plus she's taught Creative writing, so my girl understand what is POV besides the grammar errors. Her name is Becky Highnote and her email is bextruk@gmail.com if your looking for an editor.

Now, for my exciting news!! The Unforeseen Rescue is now available online on Amazon, and here is the Link:  http://www.amazon.com/The-Unforeseen-Rescue-Paula-Hardin-ebook/dp/B00JT1T3RM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1398098911&sr=8-4&keywords=Paula+Hardin

Tag, Your It, Blog Hop

Greetings! First I’d like to take the time to thank RunΓ©re for tagging me so I could join in the fun on this introductory blog hop. I can’t wait to read BLACK DOLL, the first book in her New Orleans based ‘Silent Doll’ series, seven stories that begin with an anonymously delivered Voodoo doll!
So, let me get to these questions I was given.
1.)   What are you currently working on right now?
Well, I’m finishing editing on the last few pages of my newest book, THE UNFORSEEN RESCUE. I hope to have it ready to release around Halloween. Though each of my books can be read as a stand-alone, my characters come from a central world, interacting with each other in their own story. This newest one has a connection to the main characters from FOREVER LOST, my first ebook, available at http://www.amazon.com/Forever-Lost-ebook/dp/B007COU8I6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380577433&sr=8-1&keywords=Paula+Hardin , but it's also available on Barnes and Noble, and Itunes, and Smashwords. I have another book I’m preparing to start edits on, hoping to have it ready for Heather Graham’s conference in December. With two other stories underway, I stay pretty busy! Oh! I bet you’d like to see the covers! Here they are for both books.

3.)   Why do you write what you do?

Smiling fondly. I owe it all to Christine Feehan. Once I started reading her books I was hooked on the Paranormal genre. It started out as a joke, but while waiting for her next book to come out, I tried my hand at story telling. But as I began to write my first pages, to build my characters, it quickly became real. Now I see my characters everywhere. While cooking dinner, watching TV, talking to a friend, my mind tends to go off and I’m transported back into my story. All I want to do is write.

That time I first tried my hand at writing I thought I was doing good, but I know now it needed work. I had not yet learned the craft. When she read my first pages, she didn’t tell me how mangled my work was; instead she told me how she loved this and that about my story. With her encouragements, it keeps me inspired. She’s a Icon, a legend to me and all who love her work.  Through the learning process and workshops, I have come a long way. And if she’s reading this, I want to say thank you. I love you beyond all the stars in the sky.

4.)   How does my writing process work?

After deciding to write a particular story, I find names for my main characters, I think about any habits they might have, what they look like  . . . and write them down! I learned the hard way when I forgot a character’s eye color about half way through the manuscript. I find a personal habit, good or bad, to bring them closer to the reader. I do all this while making primitive dolls. My love for the paranormal sneaks in there as well when I occasionally create Witch and Mummy dolls. Hahaha!  I sell them locally and online, with some of the money supporting my writing by buying my promos, and covers.

I tried to plot out my storyline, but lost the whole feel for the story. I don’t know what happens, or why, but it does.  So I think I write by the seat of my pants . . .hahaha . . .

Well, thank you for stopping by. It was my greatest pleasure to have you here!

Paula Hardin

PS—I tag April M. Reign and Tressa Messenger and Rita Bay. These ladies are great storytellers, so come prepared to meet two awesome ladies!

Fall Is Coming

Greetings Peeps. I hope all is well in your world. Fall is on it's way. I don't mind the weather for fall, but winter I don't like the cold. On the other hand, I love the rich earth tone colors, and the upcoming holidays. Life is a fast paced in mine, and I never seem to have enough time to do the things I need done. Twenty more pages and my edits will be completed. My cover is awesome, and I love it. I already showed a quick peek. My blurb about half done. Compacting a book into two small paragraphs isn't easy. Not for a chatter box like myself. Grins wickedly. You can't tell that by my blog because I know I let it go for weeks, months sometimes, without leaving a post, but I feel like I'm talking to myself and I find this harder then writing.
I have two blog appearances coming up, so I'm really nervous and excited. I don't want to mess up and embarrass myself. I would be mortified. When I meet people in real life, I say I'm shy, but I warm up quickly. My husband will tell you on the other hand. I never meet a stranger.
I love primitive dolls, and Halloween is my favorite making all kinds of ghost, witches, mummies and I've made a Frankenstein. Here are a few pictures for your pleasure.
