Spreading some love to my readers and fans

I just wanted to reach out and tell everyone how much you mean to me.  For years I was the one who was the fan, reading other author's work, but now I'm both. There are certain author's whom I admire intensely and would bend over backwards to please them.

Now, I'm in awe, humbled to the roots of my soul because I have fans who tell me how much they love me, and how much they love my books.  When it happens it makes me catch my breath because I KNOW that feeling!!! I  have those same emotions for my mentor, my authors whom I adore.

I wanted to send out my heart to you and want you all to know, I love you all. I cherish our friendships and love hearing from you. You make me want to write more
and put out more books to keep you happy.

So this is a huge thank you for all your support and love. Keep in touch. When I have another book signing please come out and visit. It'll be great to meet you all in person. My next event in March 4th in Houma, LA

Love to you all.
Author Paula V. Hardin

I have a different genre coming out
I'm working on the cover as we speak, it'll be called, "A Daughter's Justice" It's a contemporary Suspense Romance with steampunk elements.

R.M. James Release Party October 29, 2016

Name            RM James

First            Reina

Last            Gonzalez

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.  Hello! About me, well I live in a small rural town in Georgia just five minutes from the border of South Carolina (not South of the Border—that's too far) and about fifteen minutes from downtown Savannah. I'm originally from Queens, New York. So far I have written two books—one as an indie and the other with a publisher.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it? Latest book is Firefly Kayla's Gift what inspired the story was events and experiences in my life and overcoming obstacles that would have emotionally crippled me.

Do you have any unusual writing habits? I have to listen to calming ambient music and have my cat, Bailey, with me.

What authors, or books have influenced you? Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myer, Vampire Coalition by J.S. Scott

What are you working on now?  My current WIP is a sequel to Kayla's Gift and have ideas for future novels.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books? I promote my books on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, and my website rm-james.com

Do you have any advice for new authors? Writing is hard work so don't rush the process take your time and also don't get discouraged if your story is rejected…it's to be expected. I was rejected several times before landing a publisher.

What is the best advice you have ever heard? It’s never too late to try something new…you never know what you’ll accomplish unless you give it a try.

What are you reading now? Right now, I’m reading the bible as there are in things going in my life I need guidance with—if that makes sense. Besides that I’ve been trying to find time to read some books I acquired—just waiting on my life to slow down a bit!

What's next for you as a writer? What's next? I'm not sure….I'm hoping to move on and start new adventures for my characters.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring? The Bible, Goodbye Saturday Night by Tom Conner, The Darkest Torment by Gena Showalter.

Re-Imaging Adam Frankenstein by Author Sheila English

Today, I want to introduce Author Sheila English. This lady is amazing on so many levels. Not only is she super sweet, she's wise, caring, just an all around good person. Let's talk about her new book shall we?

Who doesn't love Frankenstein? I know I love Val Helsing version. Now Sheila English has done the impossible, she twisted it into a new direction. I was captivated by her vision.  Page by page I was pulled in wondering what would be next.

Plus she has more work coming, so look for Author Sheila English. Peeps, this lady is going someplace.

What if the Frankenstein creature didn't die in a fire,a crumbling castle or on a glacier? What if he never died at all?

Adam Frankenstein, a product of science and magic. A creature of horror, come-to-life. In this re-imagining of Mary Shelley's famous creature, Adam is still alive and his stories are that of legend. A lonely and reluctant hero looking for redemption and salvation through the ages.

Four stories, through the years, follow Adam as he struggles to understand his place in a world of men who would reject him, kill him. He looks to create humanity in himself while questioning those who were born with it.

Mary Shelley's League of Supernatural Hunters: Origins of Adam

Mary Shelley learns of supernatural creatures and real meaning of the word monster as she encounters a man unlike any other. A creature not born of woman, but created from the body of a circus strongman killed while trying to save a lion tamer. She must decide who to trust, the vampire, the witch, the mad scientist or the creature. Either way, Mary's seen enough to know she will need an army to fight those things not easily killed.

 Frankenstein's Companion

19th century England, friendless and alone in the world, Adam Frankenstein, the creation of a mad scientist and his witch lover, becomes an assassin for hire. When a powerful mage hires him to find his kidnapped daughter and kill the man who took her, Adam strikes a bargain of his own. The mage has an immortal dog and Adam will do anything to own it.

The Therapist and the Dead

Brooklyn, New York in the 1980's was a place where monsters could blend in. Life has been long and cruel, so Adam keeps his appointment with Dr. Stein, the most expensive and sought after psychologist in the city, to talk of immortality and murder.

 Adam Frankenstein, U.S. Marshal

Adam joins the 21st Century, and takes up residence in Houston, Texas. While waiting for his next mission from the League of Supernatural Hunters, he becomes Adam Frank, U.S. Marshal. His new partner is Marshal Rebecca Hughes, a by-the-book woman with a non-nonsense approach to life, with no idea who he really is, but that's all about to change. When he wakes up dead and learns someone has stolen his dog, Texas may not be big enough to hold his wrath.

So if I made you interested in this book. You can find it here.

Writer's Block is REAL

Omgoodness, I'm so close to the end of my book, but now I find myself stuck like Chuck. It's no playing matter as I'm ready to be done with this, so I can start another book. I've stopped cold against a brick wall. When that usually happens I set it aside and do a little art which is my favorite thing to do when I'm not writing. I brainstorm while I play, then I'm able to finish writing.  Well peeps. That didn't happen. Rolling my eyes in disgust.
What's funny, is while I'm writing I get these other character's with their stories entering my mind. I'ts like this door opens and this fine man walks in and says, "Hey babe, come write my story." One of these characters I have been dreaming about for a few days. He's determined and demanding, the shit, but I have to finish what I started so I can get it edited and out to my readers.
In desperation, I emailed a great author friend and told her my plot, and she suggested I go back and re-read the last chapter. It took me two days after that to do it. Now, I think I'm good now. I actually want to write. WHAT? It worked. Laughs.
So, I have my coffee and I have to go to work later, so I'm off to write for a little while. Have a great day.
I do have a question. Do you like books that may not have a followup? Let me a message I'd love to hear from you.

Oh, my art is on Etsy if your interested. Here is the link.

Just a few pictures from last years event, so much fun going on...

Monday, April 21, 2014

Well, I am shamed-faced sitting here, knowing I haven't been posting. I'm rolling my eyes in disgust, but I'm not a blogger by nature. I find my life boring, and I work a lot of hours to come in and tell you, "Well I worked all day, and tomorrow, I'd come back to say, yes another day at the grind." Grins, I think I can safely say, I live a boring life.

It's been since, 2012 that I self-published Forever Lost. I have been working on my second story and ran into a lot of problems with finding a editor. I finally found someone who is a English teacher, plus she's taught Creative writing, so my girl understand what is POV besides the grammar errors. Her name is Becky Highnote and her email is bextruk@gmail.com if your looking for an editor.

Now, for my exciting news!! The Unforeseen Rescue is now available online on Amazon, and here is the Link:  http://www.amazon.com/The-Unforeseen-Rescue-Paula-Hardin-ebook/dp/B00JT1T3RM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1398098911&sr=8-4&keywords=Paula+Hardin

Tag, Your It, Blog Hop

Greetings! First I’d like to take the time to thank RunΓ©re for tagging me so I could join in the fun on this introductory blog hop. I can’t wait to read BLACK DOLL, the first book in her New Orleans based ‘Silent Doll’ series, seven stories that begin with an anonymously delivered Voodoo doll!
So, let me get to these questions I was given.
1.)   What are you currently working on right now?
Well, I’m finishing editing on the last few pages of my newest book, THE UNFORSEEN RESCUE. I hope to have it ready to release around Halloween. Though each of my books can be read as a stand-alone, my characters come from a central world, interacting with each other in their own story. This newest one has a connection to the main characters from FOREVER LOST, my first ebook, available at http://www.amazon.com/Forever-Lost-ebook/dp/B007COU8I6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380577433&sr=8-1&keywords=Paula+Hardin , but it's also available on Barnes and Noble, and Itunes, and Smashwords. I have another book I’m preparing to start edits on, hoping to have it ready for Heather Graham’s conference in December. With two other stories underway, I stay pretty busy! Oh! I bet you’d like to see the covers! Here they are for both books.

3.)   Why do you write what you do?

Smiling fondly. I owe it all to Christine Feehan. Once I started reading her books I was hooked on the Paranormal genre. It started out as a joke, but while waiting for her next book to come out, I tried my hand at story telling. But as I began to write my first pages, to build my characters, it quickly became real. Now I see my characters everywhere. While cooking dinner, watching TV, talking to a friend, my mind tends to go off and I’m transported back into my story. All I want to do is write.

That time I first tried my hand at writing I thought I was doing good, but I know now it needed work. I had not yet learned the craft. When she read my first pages, she didn’t tell me how mangled my work was; instead she told me how she loved this and that about my story. With her encouragements, it keeps me inspired. She’s a Icon, a legend to me and all who love her work.  Through the learning process and workshops, I have come a long way. And if she’s reading this, I want to say thank you. I love you beyond all the stars in the sky.

4.)   How does my writing process work?

After deciding to write a particular story, I find names for my main characters, I think about any habits they might have, what they look like  . . . and write them down! I learned the hard way when I forgot a character’s eye color about half way through the manuscript. I find a personal habit, good or bad, to bring them closer to the reader. I do all this while making primitive dolls. My love for the paranormal sneaks in there as well when I occasionally create Witch and Mummy dolls. Hahaha!  I sell them locally and online, with some of the money supporting my writing by buying my promos, and covers.

I tried to plot out my storyline, but lost the whole feel for the story. I don’t know what happens, or why, but it does.  So I think I write by the seat of my pants . . .hahaha . . .

Well, thank you for stopping by. It was my greatest pleasure to have you here!

Paula Hardin

PS—I tag April M. Reign and Tressa Messenger and Rita Bay. These ladies are great storytellers, so come prepared to meet two awesome ladies!

Fall Is Coming

Greetings Peeps. I hope all is well in your world. Fall is on it's way. I don't mind the weather for fall, but winter I don't like the cold. On the other hand, I love the rich earth tone colors, and the upcoming holidays. Life is a fast paced in mine, and I never seem to have enough time to do the things I need done. Twenty more pages and my edits will be completed. My cover is awesome, and I love it. I already showed a quick peek. My blurb about half done. Compacting a book into two small paragraphs isn't easy. Not for a chatter box like myself. Grins wickedly. You can't tell that by my blog because I know I let it go for weeks, months sometimes, without leaving a post, but I feel like I'm talking to myself and I find this harder then writing.
I have two blog appearances coming up, so I'm really nervous and excited. I don't want to mess up and embarrass myself. I would be mortified. When I meet people in real life, I say I'm shy, but I warm up quickly. My husband will tell you on the other hand. I never meet a stranger.
I love primitive dolls, and Halloween is my favorite making all kinds of ghost, witches, mummies and I've made a Frankenstein. Here are a few pictures for your pleasure.
